It’s Your Story

The Library will integrate the theme of “It’s Your Story” throughout its programming in 2025 and 2026, including existing signature events like the National Book Festival, in our celebrated concert series, the National Film Registry and the National Recording Registry and scholarly events.

New spaces for visitor engagement and orientation will include The Source: Creative Research Studio for Kids, slated to open late 2025 to be ready for the anniversary year; and later the Orientation Gallery.

A new exhibit, The Two Georges: Parallel Lives in an Age of Revolution, will open in March 2025, which will be the beginning of the core commemorative period for America250. The David Rubenstein Treasures Gallery will begin a special rotation of artifacts for America 250, tentatively titled Founding Phrases: The Declaration Since 1776. New galleries opening during the commemorative period will also include the Voices of the Early Americas in the Jay I. Kislak Gallery, which will explore the Native cultures of the Americas before the arrival of Europeans and the ongoing impact of that event.
